What is Modern Slavery?
Modem slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. Research Now Limited dba Dynata (“Dynata”) has a zero-tolerance approach to modem slavery in our business and supply chains. As required by the United Kingdom’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”), this statement describes the steps which Dynata has taken during the financial year ended 31 December 2018 and is implementing in the current financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any of our supply chains, or in any part of our own business.
Policy
Dynata is committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains. Beginning with the financial year ending 31 December 2019, Dynata has adopted an Anti-Slavery Policy (the “Policy”) which includes specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children. The policy applies to all persons working for Dynata or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.
Supply Chain
Dynata’s zero-tolerance approach to modem slavery in our business and supply chains must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter. Dynata’s Suppliers are mostly in low risk sectors (such as hosting support services and professional services) and when we onboard a new supplier, we only engage with suppliers that are considered to be reputable. However, Dynata still expects our contractors, suppliers and other business partners to uphold the same high standards, and therefore, beginning with financial year ending 31 December 2019, as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
Training
Training on the Policy, and on the risk our business faces from modem slavery in our supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for Dynata, and regular training will be provided as necessary. We encourage employees at every level to take an active role in our compliance with our legal and ethical obligations and encourage employees to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chain at the earliest possible stage. This Statement was approved by Dynata’s board of directors on June 6, 2019.
