Bain/Dynata Consumer Health Index

The Bain/Dynata Consumer Health Index measures how consumers expect to behave, not how economists think they should behave. It is designed to be a leading indicator of consumer demand, often moving ahead of traditional consumer confidence indexes. Bain and Dynata launched the CHI in 2017 to support business planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling and covers consumer outlook, spending, savings and debt.

• How consumers feel about their personal financial situation over the near term.
• Whether consumers expect to increase, maintain, or reduce spending
• Plans related to savinguse of debt, and financial caution
